Apr 9 Why we have such high buyer demand - Portland, Oregon Real Estate

We talk a lot about how covid has created a low inventory of homes because of seller hesitancy, but we have not talked much about how a high buyer demand has factored into the low inventory we have in the Portland Oregon Real Estate Market.

So let’s talk about why buyer demand is just so high right now.

Different from other financial crashes, a lot of people were lucky enough to keep their jobs. But a large portion are also working from home. And doing pretty much everything else at home.

And when you are home most of the time, you are not out spending money eating at restaurants, shops, expensive vacations, etc. Which means people are saving a lot of money. And they started to question their living situations since it’s where they spend the majority of their time.

So considering the factors above in combination with historically low-interest rates (they have risen some recently but are still quite low) people are considering purchasing like never before and are motivated to do so even in such a tough market.

Meaning when a home does come on the market it goes fast.
