Top Portland Breweries

Top Portland Breweries

Here in Portland, Oregon we are blessed with many things, amazing parks, restaurants, waterways to name a few but one of the best parts of Portland is the fact we have the most breweries per capita than any city in the world. And everyone I have tried is top notch.

Below I list out my favorites.

Migration Brewing

Dripping with Portland pride Migration is one of my top and most frequented breweries. Specializing in West Coast and Hazy IPAs they always have a great selection of beers.

Their food is always great and they have an amazing happy hour menu.

Ecliptic Brewing

If you are tired of standard brewery food you have to check out Ecliptic. While we are spoiled with amazing cuisine at most Portland breweries, Ecliptic really takes things to another level. From plated meals, like roasted chicken with spaghetti squash, to elevated sandwiches like their beet melt, you will not leave disappointed!

Their galactic themed brews are not to be missed, my favorite is their Phaser Hazy IPA.

Old Town Brewing

Old Town is a Black-owned brewery with not only some great beer but amazing pizza too!

Hot tip: try their Detroit-style pan pizza when they have it. It will blow your mind.

My favorite beers they make are their Glow Torch Hazy IPA and their seasonal WaiMea Hazy IPA (I love a good Hazy IPA).

Lucky Lab

Looking for classic community pub vibes, an inexpensive pint and slice of pizza? Lucky Lab is the brewery for you!

Lucky Lab has been a fixture of Portland for many years. It is extremely dog friendly, holds a lot of amazing community events, including bike rides AND has community rooms that are available to use for your own events.

Last year we attended their hop harvest event. A day of free beer and wings if you helped them pick hops!

Leikam Brewing

Female-owned Leikam brewery is one of my favorite neighborhood breweries.

My first experience with this brewery was an event helping them pick hops grown in their own backyard, on top of amazing beer they do a great job of creating a homey community feel.

Ex Novo

With locations both in Portland and in Beaverton Ex Novo is a great place to check out.

Want to try Detroit-style pizza? Check out their Beaverton brewery. Make sure to also try their delicious meatballs!

Wolves and People

Outside of Portland in the city of Newberg, Wolves and People is worth the drive. Surrounded by farms and wineries the views at this top notch brewery is the perfect place to go to escape the city.

They often have a food truck on site, last time I went they had a wood fired pizza oven food cart!

Ferment

Spending the day out hiking and exploring in the Gorge?

Make sure to make a stop in Hood River to check out their awesome breweries and wineries and get some lunch.

My favorite place for beer AND food is the newer brewery Ferment. They have a great menu of mediterranean fare. From rotisserie chicken, lamb, and falafel all offered as plates, salads, wraps to their amazing sides you'll definitely find something you will love. (Make sure to get a side of their epic hot sauce!)

Ferment specializes in Farmhouse techniques with a modern twist to make their beers. After a long hike my go-to beer is their Biere De Garde Ale, a light refreshing but flavorful farmhouse ale.
